Access2Care Credentialing & Enrollment for NEMT

Access2Care owns no vehicles, so its entire network is contracted operators like you. Getting in means clearing three separate files (company, every driver, every vehicle), then signing a contract, and doing all of it while the brand itself moves into MTM Health. We prepare the packet, submit it, and chase it to a decision.

Quick Answer

SS Support Network is an independent BPO that prepares and submits Access2Care transportation provider applications: the company file, every driver file, and every vehicle file, followed weekly until you get a decision. Access2Care runs enrollment as three distinct phases, application then credentialing then contracting, with a Network Specialist assigned to work through them with you, and it takes fleets of every size, from a two-van operation up to operators with hundreds of vehicles, plus transit agencies and volunteer drivers. Our team is trained on that process and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with Access2Care or MTM Health. Approval is the broker's decision alone. What we control is a complete first submission and same-week answers to deficiency notices, so the wait is never caused by your side of the file. We are a US-registered BPO in Vancouver, WA, founded in 2020, working 24/7 under HIPAA safeguards and a signed BAA.

SS Support Network is an independent credentialing and enrollment service provider. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or partnered with Access2Care or MTM Health. All broker names and trademarks belong to their respective owners. Credentialing and approval decisions are made solely by the broker. We help transportation providers prepare and submit their own applications.

The short answer

What does credentialing with Access2Care involve?

Access2Care, LLC has been in this business since 1998 and had reached 29 states plus the District of Columbia by the time MTM bought it from Global Medical Response, a deal announced in August 2024 and closed that October. It owns no vehicles at all. Everything it sells a health plan is delivered by a contracted operator, which is why its own network material describes joining as three separate phases: application, then credentialing, then contracting, with a Network Specialist assigned to walk you through them. That structure is worth understanding early, because a provider who treats it as one form gets surprised twice. Your company is approved first, your drivers and vehicles are approved individually after that, and only when the contract is signed can you legitimately take a trip. Below is each track as the reviewer sees it, plus the part we take off your desk.

Track 1

How does company credentialing with Access2Care work?

The company phase is Access2Care satisfying itself that your business is real, insured, and eligible. Expect entity paperwork (W-9, EIN letter, state business license or Articles of Organization), commercial auto and general liability certificates naming Access2Care as Certificate Holder and Additional Insured, and workers' compensation. Don't go hunting for a national limits table, because there isn't one worth trusting. Access2Care requirements are published in plan-specific and state-specific transportation provider manuals, and Aetna Better Health of Kansas hosts one of them for KanCare, so the number that binds you is the number in the manual for your contract. Eligibility screening matters here too. Access2Care states that transport companies and their drivers are verified as eligible to participate, which in practice means federal exclusion lists, and one excluded owner or manager stops the whole file cold. We pull your limits from the right manual and get the certificate wording corrected before submission rather than after a rejection.

Track 2

How do I credential my drivers with Access2Care?

Access2Care runs background checks on every driver and says plainly that it monitors licenses and insurance on an ongoing basis. Ongoing is the word to pay attention to. A driver file that was perfect at enrollment and quietly expired eight months later is the most common way a working fleet loses trips, and the discovery normally happens at dispatch on a Monday morning. Each file typically needs a license valid for the vehicle class, a motor-vehicle record, a criminal background check, drug and alcohol screening, and evidence of whatever training your contract calls for, which for wheelchair and stretcher work generally means securement plus a passenger-assistance course. Higher modes draw extra scrutiny. Access2Care grew up inside Global Medical Response alongside the AMR ambulance business, and some of its plan work still reaches into the discharge and clinical end of the spectrum, where a thin driver file gets noticed. We build each file, load it, and put every expiry on a calendar somebody is actually assigned to watch.

Track 3

What does Access2Care require to credential a vehicle?

Vehicles are credentialed one at a time and tied to the contract, not to the company in general. Each needs current registration and title, a passing state safety inspection, a place on your auto liability schedule, and for wheelchair or stretcher units, proof that the securement equipment and accessibility meet the standard your contract sets. At acquisition Access2Care's network ran to roughly 14,000 vehicles across about 1,900 provider partners, which tells you how routine adds and retirements are on their side and how easily your roster drifts out of sync on yours. Put a new van in service before its file clears and the trips it runs are not safely billable. Retire one without removing it and your insurance schedule stops matching. We keep the roster, the inspections, and the schedule aligned with what the broker actually has on file.

Track 4

Re-credentialing & staying active with Access2Care

Nothing here stays done. Certificates renew, screenings cycle, inspections lapse, and the broker re-verifies. Providers hardly ever fail the initial application. They fail a renewal that nobody was assigned to. Worth knowing: credentialing sits behind its own tab in the same transportation provider portal you use for trips and denials, so the file is designed to be maintained there rather than mailed once and forgotten. We run renewals as a calendar with owners and dates against it, prepare each document before its deadline, and upload it, so you never get deactivated over a piece of paper.

Don't apply to the wrong one

MTM Health, Access2Care and Veyo: which brand credentials you

Access2Care is being retired into MTM Health, plan by plan, on a schedule running through 2026. MTM Health has said it will keep working with the same transportation providers, so the network is not being rebuilt from scratch, but the name and the systems are changing underneath it. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas moves its Medicaid transportation to MTM Health on October 1, 2026 and New Mexico on November 1, while HealthSpring shifted its Medicare Advantage members over from Modivcare back in March. Veyo sits under the same parent, acquired in 2022. Which brand you apply to therefore depends on your state and on the specific plan contract, not on the logo you saw last year, and the AMR heritage only adds to the muddle. Access2Care has not been an AMR desk since 2024. We confirm who actually holds the contract in your counties before you fill in anything.

How it works

Three steps to an Access2Care decision

  1. 1

    Free credentialing review

We check who holds the transportation contract in your counties right now, which matters more than usual with so much moving to MTM Health, then send the exact checklist for company, drivers, and vehicles. Written plan within 1 business day.

  2. 2

    We prepare & submit

Every file assembled and gap-checked against the provider manual for your plan, insurance wording corrected, and the packet submitted the way the reviewer expects to receive it. Your Network Specialist gets a complete file, not a partial one.

  3. 3

    Follow-up to a decision

Deficiency notices answered inside the same week and status checked weekly, so nothing sits. On approval we build your renewal calendar before the first trip runs.

Common questions

Access2Care credentialing, answered straight

Access2Care describes joining as three phases. You submit a new vendor application to its network development team, you go through credentialing, and then you contract, with a Network Specialist assigned to you along the way. No trip can be accepted until the contract is signed. We prepare the whole packet, company plus every driver and every vehicle, submit it, and answer each deficiency notice so the file never stalls on missing paperwork.

Generally commercial auto liability and general liability with Access2Care named as Certificate Holder and Additional Insured, plus workers' compensation. The limits are not national. Access2Care requirements are published in plan-specific and state-specific transportation provider manuals, such as the one Aetna Better Health of Kansas hosts for KanCare, so the binding number is whatever appears in the manual for your contract. We pull it from the correct manual and fix the certificate wording before submission, because mismatched additional-insured language is a common reason a file bounces back.

It was, and now it is MTM. Access2Care started in 1998 and spent years inside Global Medical Response alongside the AMR ambulance business. MTM agreed to buy it in August 2024 and closed on October 8, 2024, and the brand is now being folded into MTM Health plan by plan through 2026. MTM Health has said it will keep working with the same transportation providers. We confirm which brand holds the contract in your counties before you apply anywhere.

Yes. Its own network material says it contracts with providers of every size, from companies running one or two vehicles up to operators with hundreds, and it also works with public transit agencies and individual volunteer drivers. Access2Care owns no vehicles of its own, so the network is the product. A two-van operation with a complete file is not disqualified by its size. It gets disqualified by an incomplete application.

Each driver needs a license valid for the vehicle class, a motor-vehicle record, a criminal background check, drug and alcohol screening, and proof of whatever training your contract requires, which for wheelchair and stretcher work usually means securement plus a passenger-assistance course. Access2Care runs background checks on all drivers and monitors licenses and insurance on an ongoing basis, not only at enrollment, so a file that lapses mid-contract is a live risk. We build each file, load it in the portal, and track every expiry date so nobody gets deactivated mid-route.

No. SS Support Network is an independent credentialing and enrollment service provider. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or partnered with Access2Care or MTM Health, and all broker names and trademarks belong to their respective owners. We help transportation providers prepare and submit their own applications, and every approval decision belongs to the broker.

Access2Care controls that, and the answer moves with how much capacity it needs in your service area. It also moves with the MTM Health transition right now, since some plan networks are under review as contracts change hands. What we control is a complete first submission, deficiency responses inside the same week, and weekly status checks, so the wait is never caused by your side of the file.

Credentialing is billed hourly from $6/hr, or priced per application and per driver, quoted against your fleet size and how many brokers you are enrolling with at once. Ask for a custom plan and we put it in writing, with no obligation.
