How does company credentialing with MTM work?
Company credentialing is where MTM decides your business is real, insured, and safe to send members to. The core packet is your business entity documents (W-9, EIN letter, business license or Articles of Organization), commercial auto liability and general liability certificates with MTM named correctly, and workers' compensation. Insurance limits are set per state and per contract — a Missouri contract, for example, commonly calls for $2M auto liability and $2M general liability with MTM listed as Certificate Holder and Additional Insured. The application runs application → credentialing review → contracting, and the single most common reason it stalls is certificate wording that does not match what the reviewer expects. How do I credential my drivers with MTM?
Every driver who touches an MTM trip needs a complete, current file: a valid license for the vehicle class they drive, a clean motor-vehicle record, a criminal background check, drug and alcohol screening, and proof of the training MTM requires — typically defensive driving, CPR and First Aid, and wheelchair securement or a PASS-style passenger-assistance course. Driver credentialing is also where an operating fleet gets caught later: a license or a background check quietly expires and the driver is deactivated in the portal on their next trip. What does MTM require to credential a vehicle?
Each vehicle in service has its own file: current registration and title, a passing state safety inspection, the vehicle listed on your auto liability policy, and — for wheelchair and stretcher vehicles — proof the securement equipment and ADA accessibility meet the standard. Add a vehicle to your fleet and it has to be credentialed and added to the contract before it can run a trip; retire one and it has to come off.
